Fighting for Charity – Charlie Watkins Foundation
£6,856 raised
Sponsored fundraising
The Charlie Watkins Foundation celebrates the life of Charlie who took his own life when he was only 22. Sadly, Charlie never recovered from the tragic loss of his mother when he was only nine years old. Charlie is one of many examples of young people who suffer from mental health issues today, and the Charlie Watkins Foundation aims to raise funds for trustees of the foundation to better support young people suffering from mental illness problems.
As part of the Foundation’s fundraising work, they and Fighting for Charity organised a white-collar boxing night using DONATE as the fundraising platform. The donate platform provided each boxer with dedicated text and web links enabling them to go out to their supporter base to raise funds.
How DONATE™ was used
Fighting for Charity organises white-collar boxing events to raise money for charity partners. In partnership with Fighting for Charity, DONATE provides a range of fundraising services including text, contactless and web-based giving. Each fighter not only runs a dedicated page to encourage support for the chosen charity, but is given access to personalised text key words and web-page addresses. The DONATE platform therefore provides a range of fundraising services not found in other platforms:
*** Dedicated account management function
*** Personalised text and web links
*** Integrated text and web-giving platform
*** Real time donation alerts
*** Gift Aid and GDPR compliance
