Celebrating new beginnings with a virtual festival
The Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated annually to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha, the God of new beginnings. This year the festival went ahead at a reduced scale and behind closed doors. The Mauritian Marathi Society selected DONATE to raise funds via text and web during the festival due to the ease of giving, integrated text and web giving and live reporting.
The Society were delighted with an average donation of £13.50
How DONATE™ was used
For the first time they ran a live stream during the festival and during the stream encouraged text donations. Donors were directed both direct to DONATE and also to the Society’s website where the details were provided on all the methods of giving. Reasons for giving and donations channels were also mentioned both before and throughout the festival on social media channels to drive awareness.
